Mantra

It's old news by now, but on Sunday afternoon adult salmonflies - both naturals and imitations - were bringing trout to the surface in the canyon reaches of the Firehole River.

The hatch provided me with the opportunity to catch trout using a dry fly and a (borrowed) bamboo rod. Such a combination is something that all anglers ought to experience, it's enjoyable. Graphite has its place, but so too does boo.

      It's definitely something I'd like to do more of. It's a bit cost prohibitive though.

    When I was in Idaho I had the oppertunity to fish Salmon fly drys on the Henry's Fork. No big fish but had a blast catching them on top with those hugh immitations. Would have been that much better if I was waving a Bamboo. Love the pic.
